I know ever body talks about the afr heads a lot on this site whats the opinions on the brodix. The flow charts on the brodix claim they flow better. Does anyone run brodix?

Comparable unit. The key is to look at how much flow vs. how much lift with the same size runner so you can compare apples to apples.

It has been a while since I looked at the #'s. I usually go with whichever one I can get a better deal on when I am buying.

AFR 305 CNC'd is a 315. That is the perfect head for what he wants to do.

Those heads and a Cam from RMbuilder ( Bob Madara ) 585-654-8583 can get you close to 600hp.

He would really be there if he would have upped the comp a little.

It's not to late to machine down the heads a little.

Didn't think about the gasket. That would work. Which part number is that?

I am not sure what you are saying with the gasket.

The head gasket difference will bring the head closer to the deck on the engine. This decreases the volume of the combustion chamber and thus gives you a highr comp ratio.

There is a little more to it as you need to check your piston to valve clearances and make sure you can get away with it.

You can have the AFR's decked down and this decreases your combustion chamber volume also.

When you increase the piston diameter, it does the same thing.

All of these combine to adjust your comp ratio to what you want it to be. I have had heads milled with 135cc chambers as an easy fix to drop a comp ratio on a blower engine.

If you are going to go with the blower, don't even worry about it, as the blower will trump all of this.

Remember also that when you add the blower, not only are you getting extra HP, but you are getting an incredible increase in torque and that is what you are really after. especially in a boat like yours.
