Biggus, Couple questions for you.
Your flame arrestors look like they are low profile. Where did you get them?
Are you dumping the intercooler water over the drives? I was thinking about doing that with mine and using the water for the drive showers.
Thanks....sorry for the hijack:party-smiley-004:

I picked up a complete set of 575SC's for both motors yesterday. Looks good without looking too close yet, but the intakes will need some welding on one port. Both intakes are good except on the port front water passage. One would work, one is too close, less than a 1/8 left. Plan on converting my 500EFI's with these for some power gains.

Ciaod, who welded yours up?

Biggus, How's things going?

Linnie, One of the welders in my shop did them. Let me know, we can hook you up.

It's on the back plate, it's an allen head plug....kind
of in front of the distrtibutor

it's not in the same location as the front one is.

What oil do you use?

merc says their hi perf gear lube.

I use Amsoil gear lube...same as what I use in the
drives.

While your at it, better check the oil in the sea pump/ fuel
pump assy, it gets kind of dilluted.

I believe the flame arrestors are the stock 575SCI's, just repainted by Lip Ship.

Yes, the excess water is dumped on top of the drives. We rigged seperate transom mount pick-ups with water pressure relief valves (Mc Master-Carr) set at 20 psi through a pair of Hardin Marine intercooler strainers.

Not sure if dumping the intercooler water on the drives is really doing anything but one thing I've noticed is the drive lube does not push out the reservoir anymore.

Along with instaling the Whipple intercoolers, the motors now have flat top blower pistons, custom ground Ultradyne Hydraulic roller cams (similar grind to the 525 EFI cam) some port work on the stock heads and re-programmed boxes. Blowers have smaller pulleys, boost @ 5psi.

Unfortunately we did not dyno with the Whipple intercooler/pulley swap but they did make 696 hp with the stock blower set up. I'd guess they are now making at least 725-750 hp And extremely reliable too, these mods were done back in 2005. Motors now have about 70 hrs and run cleaner than a stock 575SCI. The boat is a hoot to drive, spinning 37p Mercury Racing Bravo 4 blades at 5450.

Good luck with the project Linnie, are you going to retain the stock 575SCI throttle body fuel system?
