Steering
Maybe you guys can help me again! My fountain with factory external steering two rams. What would I have to do to be able to get rid of my power steering pump. And can it even be done with out replacing the rams, and changing everything. Thanks JOHN

I just have to ask. Why would you want to get rid of the power steering? I'm lost here.

It's not a problem at all. Email or phone if you like and I can spec out the right helm pump for your application. Like Darrell says though, why?

Well I really didn't know that pump was necessary,Never had a boat with the steering pump, just had a helm and cylinders I need to run the pump low on the fuel pump side and can't find any brackets,Would a small GM style remote fill pump work?????I have cam drive water pumps and the steering belt is a issue. Thanks JOHN

If I keep the pump could I run a smaller pulley on the crank to get my clearance I need. What would that do to the operation of the set up. Thanks JOHN

The remote pump will work fine, and using a smaller pulley on the crank for clearance is fine also. It will slow the pump down and flow a little less volume but probably would only really be noticeable at idle and wont cause any issues when cruising.. Either one of those is probably a better solution then swapping to a manual system. :ernaehrung004:

you can install an electric hydraulic unit . they are made by latham for outboards, but i would call latham first. you can also use the pump asked about or you can buy a kpm pump which is very small and universally mounted.
