The longer hub makes it much harder to get my engine into the boat as I have very little front clearance (I actually have to install my front crank pulley once motor is in the mounts)and it seems harder to align but more accurate once it is. You literally can't get the input shaft to go in if it isn't 99% perfect, you won't regret buying them though once it's in,Smitty

thanks,I think ill be OK on the install, the alignment has always been a b!tch thats what I figured,A headache, Ill be taking it easyer on the drives , I clould of bought another drive for what the rebuild cost, upper gears are

Did it make it hard to install the moter with it sticking out , also did make it harder to aline the engine??? I just bought the A20, they just went up again Jan 1:(

Thanks

I didn't find it any more difficult, but I have a single engine with lots of room in the engine hatch. I also have solid motor mounts and my alignment remaind the same. I checked the alingment after installed and the tool slid in nicely...

mines allways a beoch to alignment,I can turn the motor 180 and it changes it on the tool,

I just dropped my engines in with new couplers and aligned them. Then I turned them both over and tried the tool again. One slid right in the other was tight. I tapped the tool up down right and left with a dead blow and the tool would slide right in again. I think the engine needs to actually run with the drive shaft in it to get the gimbal bearing lined up perfect I replace the gimbal bearing on this side.

I've run into the same scenerio on an older boat I had. After reinstalling and initial alignment check, found I needed to "adjust" the gimble bearing and recheck.

Ive done that also, spin it over then push the tool up down and sides,I think the rubber hub moves around when its running anyway,

I am not sure anyone cares but the long snout will not work with the input shaft of the adapter used on the front end of a drive shaft in a staggered configuration.

Well, on mine it didn't.
.
