lookin for new boat
Ok i started a thread about raylar kits on my 29 outlaw and just decided to try and by a new boat. Im very torn I would like a fountain because i currently own a 32 cc and i love the ride but im afraid that the cabin wont be roomy enough im looking at a 2000 38 lightning with 500 hps for 90,000 I want a boat that can run in the 80's or at least 80 and I can modify easily. I like the look of the fountain but im affraid I could get more cabin out of a Donzi or Formula with same speed results. I cant look at a 38 up close and i dont think the pics to the cabin justice. any help would be appreciated whats a better boat for me
Thanks guys and to all that responded to my Raylar thread |

What are you looking to use the cabin for? Unless you are a midget it is not good for much.

I have a wife and 2 daughters and they are 3 and 1 so she wants somewhere comfortable to stick them cause we pull all dayers and sometimes overnighters

The Baja cabin in my 29 has more room than my cig. Now if you really want some room step up to a Black Thunder. The wife will love you.

I don't think the 38 fountain w/ 500's is going to get you to 80, freind of mine just boought a 35 w.525sc fountain spec 83

Sonic has a large cabin for the money . The problem with the big cabin is more weight = more hp to get to that speed. More hp = more money. There is lots of good deals to be had out there so take your time and look at lots of them before you make your move. Just my.02 Jeff :ernaehrung004:

My partner has a 32 with 500's and I have seen a best of 82 to 83. I don't think a 38 will get you there with that power. |
Don't know where you are boating at but you might look at the 38 powerquest avenger. Lots of boat for the $$$$$$$ with a very nice cabin. 70+ to 80+ with the right stock power.

my 32 active thunder has a big cabin and 85 on gps with 500s the 37 active with 500s is a 80 mph boat, well built boats and love the rough. post on the active thunder forum on here you will see what im saying is true.

Donzi has a nice cuddy, in the ZX series you won't braek any speed records with standard power but with a 9'6 beam and 5'10 headroom, it is hard to beat. The head is big in a 33 or 38ZX, large fridge, Microwave needs a few extra L brackets, easy fix. Shore power and A/C is always nice with a standard built in battery charger.
Again, lots of room for a GREAT day on the water for a family. Oh, the table is removable, ours stays out. Bryan |
