I can't blame the guy for being in love with his ride though. I hope he gets what he wants for it. |
this is the 425 HP HO. the engine is from merc cpo/ remanufacturing. It is rebuilt or new, could be a buyback from boatbuilder. don't know exactly which parts are new & which are rebuilt or used until you get it. everyone I have sold has had new exhaust. still a great product with a great warranty from the manufacturer, mercury marine.

I see big boats that age going for that money needing rebuilds, I had my eye on a 33ft sutphen thats been sitting with 540s he wants 22,000 its 85 or 87.my buddy has a 18ft donzi with a big block there nice on a calm day on the lake but if you run in to anything over 2 1/2 ft hold on. its fun over 70:D and there was a 454 22 at the marina on the cape but he couldn't hang with us if it was rough out 3 footers or more theyed get soaked, but theres a lot up in maine on the lake I want a 18 with my spare 670hp motor in it.

I would have actually considered giving him a call if it still had the antique whipple and the $1500 exhasut included and it didn't say FIRM.
I can't blame the guy for being in love with his ride though. I hope he gets what he wants for it. The whipple kit is worth $5k, and check your price on Dana marine exhaust- more like $2000 plus I had the riser threaded for a wideband 02 sensor- another $150. I'd consider including them with the boat, depends on how the offers go. not in the first day the boat is for sale though... I've had 1 offer, holding out for a higher one. Not many classics out there with an almost brand new trailer, nor Livorsi monster gauges in a custom Nisonger marine dash panel (with $350 switches, $600 GPS recall speedo- $2k total), Dana throttle, Stainless marine pop up indicators, Imco lower, Acron cleats, fresh water cooling, etc, etc, etc. If you think that makes a $8000 boat, you're crazy. These boats go for $18k all stock (with a running engine of course). With a whippled 502 in this boat and running 90mph, it would probably be worth closer to $25k, this is a chance to pick your own power... plus a lot of people on here have lines on cheaper replacement engines, or even better, have one laying in their shop. Me, just being married and now living in Hawaii, I don't have the funds laying around to repower a boat that will sit for next 3 years. Although I will before I give the boat away. |
