Fuel Line Suggestion???

Has anyone ran stainless or soft copper fuel lines from the tank to the electric fuel pump filter, and just on the engine block up to the carb. I have plenty of both lines so it can save me ssome money on hoses. Any suggestions Thanks

I would use stainless over copper, as long as you can bend it. Are you able to make double-inverted flairs?

Are either CG approved? These lines might not be the best choice in a marine application.

Is there coast gaurd approved metal tubing.

BenPerfected 02-01-2009 08:11 PM

That is the point, I don't think any metalic fuel lines are CG approved.

Merc used metal lines from the fuel pump to the carb on all kinds of engines. I think it was SS.

sec 183.538 metalic fuel line materials

each metalic fuel line connecting to the fuel tank must be made of seamless annealed copper or nickel copper or copper-nickel and have a wall thickness of 0.029 inches.
