Default 330hp 454 rocker stud question

Hey guys I was going to do a camshaft swap with new lifter, springs and roller rockers on my stock 330hp 454. Bob from RM builders is the guy helping me with the proper camshaft, etc. Anyway the boat is shrink wrap as of now and there is now way for me to acces the engine. What I need to know is the stock peanut port oval heads on my motor use pressed in rocker studs or are they screw in rocker studs? I never had the valve covers off so iam not 100% sure but I thought these motors have pressed in rocker arm studs.
thanks for any help
Erik

No, they screw in. You can change to a roller rocker if you want to , but it is a huge waste of cash fu(king with those heads. You can buy a brand new set of oval Merlins from JEGS for $1600 shipped to your door, and they will work fine for what you are trying to do.

Tell Bob Jeff Says hello, and to get his but to the boat show.

99.9% sure They use the non adjustable shoulder bolts. You can look up your engine on www.mercruiserparts.com to verify.
The ARP screw in stud kit is about $35

I didn't mean rocker arms, I was just meaning that the treaded holes are there to put the rocker studs into the head.

What he said.

as said before you are wasting time and $$ with those heads....junk for any performance....even a set of good large ovals (781's) would do wonders...
