Kieth, Perhaps the valve covers are flooding under pressure. If so,breather lines to the carbs or air intake would still seep.
One would prefer to NOT restrict the sprayer lines, but is an option...vacuum should also solve the problem, improve piston rock stability at bottom dead center and idle/torque quality. We were concerned about closing the system w/vacuum because of risk for crankcase explosion or pushed seals at idle....The concern was eliminated with a "flapper valve". The flapper valve screws into KE valve covers and the typical valve cover breather sanitarily fits the valve. We think one assembly should be on each valve cover. The valve works similar to a PCV valve but is precision and has much more capacity. The valve is spring loaded and opens with ounces of pressure and closes when vacuum is seen, thus, the name "flapper valve".(we have extras) Some use the range of 10 to 15" of vacuum as most safe. Above that range bores and other parts may start to dry out. Glad all is well, stay in touch. |
Mark, thanks for the verification....VERY VALUABLE INFORMATION you and HOT PURSUIT offer.... What is the recommended pressure w/idle set at 1,000 RPM to 6100 ? Our electrical alarm system can be set to accommodate the recommended parameters.
Also,do you see any specials coming up for your dry sump, drive line transmissions?...We are building a set of spare engines...No hurry. |
