cross over or circ pump
pros and cons to water cross over vs stock circulating pump

I use the EMI crossover with thermostat and bypass. I like it and have not problems. I also have a large oil/ps cooler that pre heats the water. The temps are very stable.

I run one with a by pass and therm, works great...had one with no by pass and no therm ran to cold..Rob

if you are using a bravo drive then the water is comming from the sea-water pump.you pick up h/p by not running the circulating pump.as said by others, run a t-stait .i think the h/p gain is around 5-10.hope this helps.

Say what you will, Mercury Racing has some very durable racing motors. This one (and many other models) have a recirculating water pump. You decide which is best for you.

I had a 468 putting out about 500 hp with a cross over and bypass and ran it for 5 years with out issue. Unfortunately it threw a fan belt and because i did not have a warning horn and wasn't paying attention to the guages I cooked it. Same thing would have happened with the water pump though.
