Fuel Pump tube...
 

I am sure that most of you probably don't run stock stuff, but let me try this question anyway.

On the marine fuel pumps that have the bypass tube for pump failure, where does the tube go (I know it goes up to the carb, but where on the carb)?

I have a 454 that someone put an automotive Holley on. I would like to run that tube similar to where it would return on the Rochester. Also, is there vacuum on the line?

Or should I just leave it plugged and not worry about it?

The tube is there to allow any fuel that the pump leaks to go into the carb instead of the bilge. There should only be fuel coming out of the hose if there is something wrong with the fuel pump. If a seal goes out on the pump. it will leak fuel into that hose.
You can run it to your flame arrestor if you can't find a place on the carb to put it.

Normally the tube connects to to a fitting on the flame arrestor. As long as its connected to dump into the carb somehow, it fine.

As far as the automotive carb, you should at least get J tubes in case a float sticks open.

there is NO vaccum ......DONT hook it to a Vaccum port .....m

I was going to run the tube to the flame arrestor, with a fitting directly into the top of the flame arrestor, but that means it will have a vacuum on it.

So is that concept ok?

It won't see that type of vaccum at the arrestor when compared to a vaccum port on your carb. Probably won't even be able to measure it.
To the flame arrestor is normal.

I would run it into a fitting on the bottom of the flame arrestor for a cleaner look.
