Default Fuel pressure switch

I have seen two differnt ways of wiring an electric fuel pump. The USCG diagram shows the pump as the common the normally closed to the starter and the negative side of the coil to the normally open. All others show the same except the normally open to the ignition . Is the USCG the right way to install the switch or is the drawing wrong.
