Max water pressure with a crossover bypass system?

Ok, after receiving some good advice here about water crossovers and thermostat bypasses, I have made changes to my setup and hopefully it'll work.

What I did was to add a 3/4" hose between the crossover and the thermostat housing cover. Also, I drilled two 1/8" holes in the thermostat bases as well.

I'm worried about overpressurizing the cooling system with the thermostat closed. I figure running the engines at idle or low rpm till the thermostats open will eliminate any problems.

That said, what is the maximum water pressure I should be comfortable with?

Thanks,

Greg

25psi is about the max you want.

What type of water PU do you have? If your drives have DWP then you could have issues ....if your drives just have the side water PU's and you have the the bypass hose and the drilled thermostat you should be fine ....I would still run a pressure gauge though ......m

My water pickups are on the sides of the drives. I plan to run replace my vacuum gauges with a set of pressure gauges to be safe.

Thanks,

Greg
