Temperature / Pressure Senders

1 Attachment(s)
G'day All,
Is there any difference between the automotive and marine temperature (water / oil) and pressure (oil) sender units for electronic analogue gauges?

I ask because I have the gauges installed (oil & water temp, Oil pressure) but all the senders left with the old motor (454 mag) and I want to be sure I put the right senders in the new engine.

Will the standard automotive style 'universal' senders work or will their sensitivity range be too high?

If they won't work, does anyone have the correct type of senders I should be using and can someone tell me where to get them?
(Open loop cooling system and Gil oil cooler)

Cheers,
John

John there Faria. That dash looks familiar. What senders do you have,i can't remember?Any 0-80 PSI oil sender will work from a GM application.Careful with the water because theres 2.The Alarm sender and the one you need.I don't know the range.Search Ebay you're sure to find one.Hows the project?I've finished paint. The whole thing got done.Starting fit out.

Hello mate! Sent you a few emails a while back! Figured you must be busy! It's all coming along, been madly re-wiring and hooking things up. I've been powdercoating and re-upholstering lately. She's looking good now! The motor's coming back out next weekend for a final fit and fix so I can weld the mounts down. All should be well. I'll PM you my new email address, you'll have to send me some pics of yours!
