Can get pricey though hoping for some help. Jon |
What types of parts? I can have made depending on size and other factors. Let me know what you are trying to accomplish?

Intake manifold, over all dimensions are : 7.000" x 14.000"x 25.000" Price is resin dependant, and thats a big envelope per a few of the quotes I recieved. I would need three parts. Thanks Jon |
Let me check some things out in am. I have a source that is doing free samples, not sure if they will do all three but can always ask. Will verify size. Does resin matter? WHat are you trying to accomplish with prototype? Would it be better to make actual sample?

Resin is what the SLA is made of. Parts would be used to make the sand cast, after the green sand is cured they would burn the resin out and fill the molds with 356 T6 aluminum. This process gives a much nicer part finish. Normally this is the route to go before building investment molds,..........which I have no interest in production, just my parts I designed. Thanks for looking into this. Cheaper way to do this is the honeycomb core built with the SLA also rather than solid resin, keeps the exspense down. But the cost was still huge.........Yikes! Jon |
I have a rapid prototype and stereolitography at my work. The size might be larger than my machine can handle, but I will find out.
|
If you want to run it, you need SLS, SLA will not handle any heat of anytype. We use the honeycomb filled for parts to look at, make changes to, but use only SLS to run. SLS is typically 2.5 to 3 times as expensive as SLA/honeycomb.

Thanks any and all help is appreciated. For the smaller machines the make it in two parts and glue it together. Jon |

Thanks, This will not be used to run with. Only used to make the aluminum parts with, unless you have a better cost effective method for only three parts. Thanks Jon |
Cam Logic in Oxford just got a new 3d printer for making prototype parts. because of you larger size yes it's going to be expensive or hard to find someone to do it. maybe as an option cut the whole thing in half make two sections then vibration/sonic weld them together. Another option that you may consider would be investment casting. If you can make a wax mold of the part they can take care of the rest. RLM just north of Oxford could help you here and may even be able to help you with contacts for sterolith.
