496 Re-flash

I have a (2004) 496 Mag and I am going to make it a 496 H.O. First I am going to change the cam to the H.O. cam, Second I am going to remove the trubulators, and Third I was told to have the Computer or ECU or PCM , or whatever it's called, Re-Flashed. My first question; 1) will reflashing serve the same purpose as getting an H.O. Computer?? 2) Who can Re-Flash to the H.O. settings? Then, I'm going to play around with props. I have a 1993 Formula 271 w/ 2004 496 Mag and 2004 Bravo 1 Outdrive running a 24P Bravo 1 Four Blade and am only running 57 MPH at about 4800 RPM. So, I'm thinking I should be running around 63 with the above done to the boat>..... Any suggestions, especially for the prop?? Is this speed realistic if I do these thing to the motor?

THANKS

FT

Dustin at whipple can do your computer for you. As far as props go I would stay with what you have until you can try it. The extra 50hp might be just what you need. :ernaehrung004:

Thanks Jeff , I'll get in touch with Dustin..

88242ls, Is that a 21P you're running?/ If so, what kind of RPMs are you turning? gotta be high. I had a Formula 252 and it had a 454 (310 H.P.) and it would run faster than this 271. These boats are built good and I love 'em, but my gosh they're lead sleds! I guess the stepped hull would really help out a newer one.

yes, in fact I gotta take the prop in and have it worked a little, but I imagine I will be loookin for a 23p also
