Help-Sea Strainer Install on Merc 496HO

Does anyone have a picture of a sea strainer install on a Merc 496HO with the closed cooling?

All u have to do is mount it in between the pick up and raw water pump !!!!!!! Easy and very simple !!:ernaehrung004:

Keep it as low in the boat as you can. And do not forget a shutoff valve so you can clean them out without sinking the boat. :ernaehrung004:

I know where it should be located versus the water pump etc. However the steel cored hose required on the suction side of the water pump is not at all flexible and does not come with molded in bends like radiator hose. So I am curious how and where in the boat one would plumb the sea strainer to accomodate that fact and tap into the water intake hose between the transum and the water pump on a Merc 496HO/Mag closed cooling system which also has an air pressure actuated sea water drain valve assembly hooked up to the water intake hose in that same location. It is a busy location

Has anyone ever done it?

Just installed a 496 in my buddies boat on the weekend. There is nothing but room under the engine to run the hose. If that will not work hire the job out. :ernaehrung004:
