Sea Pump priming????

I ran my boat Saturday for the first time. No tempature reading on the gauge. Had plenty of water from the sea pump, and aways has when running in a trough at home (I do not use water muffs).

On Sunday I worked on various things like the timing and ran the boat with good water flow.

THEN, I replaced the water tempature sender in the thermostat housing. Cranked the engine, no water flow from the Sea Pump.

Is it possible that an air lock was created? What do I do with this situation?

Just seems too odd to just quit like that.

After sitting all winter my guess is the blades on the pump dryed out and broke off while you were running it. I would start by checking the pump. Just my .02 Jeff :drink:

If your pump is working correctly any air will be forced out. I would do like p31 said and check your impeller. How many hours do you have on the impeller? Has it ever been ran dry?

I agree with the last two guys, sat all winter and ran the boat and the impeller failed. thats why they should be replaced once a year, made sure you remove all rubber after the pump and account for all the blades, back flush the system.
