Cams With Gill Exhaust

Anyone Running Bigger Than Stock 500hp Cams With The Stock Gill Exhaust System. If So How Big And Any Reversion Problems.

Thanks

You have the taller, updated risers so I think you could go with something in the range of a Crane 741 without any issues.

Griff what is the specs on the 741 cam, and is it a proven hp upgrade.

Thanks again Rick

It was probably the one of the most widely used cams for upgrading the 500HP. 236/244, .610/.632, 112 lobe sep. If you want to reduce the reversion possibilities and get a smoother idle, have one ground a 114 lobe sep. That would be the same as the 525EFI cam

Rick, If you are really concerned about reversion and the choice of cam you are putting in your engines, then contact RMBuilder/Bob Madara of Marine Kinetics in N.Y. (585) 654-8583. He will take all of your engine's components and match them to a custom cam profile designed specifically for YOUR engines and what you want to do with them. Bob is one of the country's BEST "go to" cam experts you will find...especially for marine offshore hi-perf applications.
