Spark Plug Change

How often do you change your plugs? Once a year? Every other year? Other? Thanks

Usually if the engines are large and have idling issues and alot of hours they get replaced every year. If the engine is mild with nicely set up carbs and ignition you can usually go every two.

How has the boat been for you? Are you done doing upgrades?

John,
Whats up my man! I miss you down here on the island! Boats doing good, knock on wood! I did the top ends of the motors a couple years ago and over the winter, I was working on new upolstry for the cockpit. Its always a work in progress!! What plugs do your reccomend for my setup? Dart iron eagle heads on 454 with 750 carb with thunder bolt? Thanks

Hey Gripit

One thing you want to watch out for is the salt air and leaving those plugs in two long. If you try and go a couple of years you may end up with a couple of them that arent so easy to remove. I always use the old plugs to fire it up in the spring and burn the crap gas out then fresh plugs for the new season. Hope this helps

It depends on the engines.
