Help please!!!!!

many problems, could they be related? First thing that happen was the inline fuse holder went bad on fuel pump and it was not working and temp hard wired it, then the rpms would still not go above 3000 and slowly dropped until stall. had an overheating problem, which turned out to be the thermostat. I just bought the boat, has a 516ci blown with appox 150hr and was sitting for the last 2 years. could this all be from not running? ohh one more thing had an oil leak also, turned out to be leaking from the dipstick. any help would be great! thanks

sound like carb issues, but would hurt to run compression and check condition of engine.

Did the fuse holder melt???? If so, most likely the fuel pump is bad and pulling too much power.

I am going to do a compression check. the fuse holder was corroded and would not stay tight enough against the fuse.

thanks for the advice

Did a compression test and had between 50 to 70 psi in all cylinder except for no 4 which was around 35. changed the oil and in the oil filter there was alot of metala dn replaced the oil and already had shaving in it from try to fire it back up. I also thing I burned up the starter, it just clicks now. I am going to pull the moter and go get the block and head tested.

50-70 psi?????? and one with 35????????

That engine is totally F'd up.

the fuse is there for a reason. bypassing it is not the way to go anytime. fix the cause, not the effect.

Ouch. Did you shoot any oil into the cylinders before starting it. Sitting for two years, I bet that thing was as dry as a popcorn fart.
