Should say on the back of the pump ,,but i believe its the discharge !!

Usually they are side by side and not top and bottom.

U can loosen the bracket and turn it ?! So really no telling !!:eek:

Your sea pump can be tured both ways . Look on the back it should be marked.

What engine and year do you have?

suction on top

If you have the one piece plastic housing from Merc the suction goes on top for a normal rotation motor.

On the one piece, they are marked on the back LH and RH.
 

For LH rotation, the suction hose goes on the one marked LH, and vice versa for RH rotation.

Look at the arrows on the pump. They are self explanitory. BTW my output is on the top with mine and the arrows indicate LH rotation. The pump turns CW looking at it from the front.
