Hull number locations

I'm looking into a early to mid 80's scarab 38. The owner says the hull numbers could not be located on the rear of the boat. Would there be any other locations for the #'s other than the rear?

On our old 1984 38' Scarab the HIN was on the outside transom below the swim deck. I can't remember exactly when HIN's were required. If you can't find it there I would suspect that it was filled in prior to a paint job, or it may be a stolen boat.

Either way, caveat emtor.

Good luck.

They should be on the starboard side about 1 foot from the transom under the rubrail !!!!

They did that because of safety !!!

And i am not kidding u !!!!!!!!!!!!!!:party-smiley-004:

I was pretty sure there was a secondary HIN #. I'll check when I see the boat. Thank you.

HINS were required from 1973 and up.
