Gimble bearing replacement

Have you ever replaced the Gimble bearing/u-join bellows and if so, do you reccomm:hitfan::hitfan:end doing this yourself or having it done by a professional?

That is going to depend on your skill level as well as your bank account level.

This was the first "job" I ever did on my boat, and i did it myself. It is a good starting point for learning your boat, and I would recommend it.

I had a couple posts in this thread that might interest you - some insight from an amateur.

I heard your not very good with your hands and you'll screw it up..... I COULD DO IT IN 1 OR 2 HOURS.

replacing the bellow is onething, the gimbal is something else, there are several special tools involved that you can't do the job with out, and if you try to improvise you could cause more issues than you want.
