Gas in blower oil!

Went to change my blower oils today. Did the fronts, looked normal. As I loosened my rear fill plug, once it came out so did about a couple shot glasses full of raw gas, and it was pressurized inside there. Pretty much the same thing on the other blower, just a little less fuel came out, but still some.

Once I tipped the blower on its side, the gear lube began draining out, and it looked good. Still purple(royal purple). So I flushed it with fresh lube, and refilled.

Question, how normal is this? I have heard fuel dilution is common, but this was quite a bit of fuel. While spinning the pulley, i didnt hear any noise or growling from the bearings, sounds smooth and quiet. However, if theres a seal that might need replacing in there, id like to get them redone.

They are weiand 177 blowers (525SC blowers)

I never had this problem with my 525SC 177, but there was thread about the same thing just a few weeks ago.

I had this at the end of last year. The rear seal was bad. I changed it and the rear bearing. It was a cake job on a 177. I believe I found the seal/gasket kits in a ebay store, whcih one eludes me right now. The bearing was a run of the mill variety and I got it from a farm supply sttore locally.

When you say rear seal, which seal are you referring to? I was thinking of just sending them in, but if its a easy fix, might not have to. They were still pulling 5+lbs last year.

On a wieand you remove the back plate(s) and you are looking at the bearing and seal. It was very easy if you take a little care along the way. The seal kit came will seals and gaskets for the whole blower for around $50 to my door.

Bearings are different than 6-71's. Match up your old ones, If I remember right they are 204's on the rotors.

You might have to call them. I only got gaskets and seals. For the bearing I went to the local supply house bearing in hand and got a direct replacement.
