Stereo Capacitor question
 

I have 2 amps dedicated to driving the subs in my boat, I was wondering if when you add a capacitor [which I plan on doing] if you need to have 1 for each amp?, or if you can wire one capacitor to 2 amplifiers, the amps are only 200 watts at 4ohms, and I have been told that you need 1 farad for every 1000 Watss, so, I was thinking of getting a .5 or 1Farad capacitor and wiring it to both amps, will that work?

IMO, I dont think that you need to run a capacitor at all. I put two on my subs 1500 watts and I think that they require more battery power to run them than just the subs and not much of a load with 400 watts that you have.

For something that small you do not need a capacitor. A capacitor is only really needed if you are drawing serious power, like a couple thousand watts in amps to keep the power flow to the amp consistent. You should be fine without one, that system is by no means that large that it would require one. If you were running a couple W7's with some 1000 watt amps, for sure. However, if you really want to add one, then by all means a .5 would be plenty for both amps.

Yes you can.
You don't have to run it to the amps.
Just hook it up to the distribution blocks if there close.
You really don't need it though.
