What type of sealant should I use on new exhaust tips?

The tips I am replacing had a rubber gasket around them. The news came and no gasket

I want to make damn sure they do not leak because they are on the waterline. Not by my design, the boat came that way.

I wonder what the dif is with the marine grade silicone besides money?

4200 is good and readily available. It is basically like 5200 with half the adhesive strength. It also comes in a quick cure formula and will set up in a couple hours.
