Best exhaust for the money

What would be the most cost effective exhaust for my 500hps that would be better than the stock gill, i have my long risers yet but sold the manifolds, now i need something without reversion problems using a bigger cam. would love to find 2 sets used but have had no luck to this point.

Thanks

Have you looked at the Hardin Marine Typhoons(I think)... I was unable to dig up any actual people who owned any, but maybe call them or CP and ask about them?

CMI Unitops.

Best for the money would be Revolution Marine, better than stock and very reasonably priced

A dry exhaust is not hoter then a wet ,,,the pipe is still water jacked !!!!:party-smiley-004:

So are you trying to use the original risers? and just find a replacement manifold? What size is the camshaft?

Imco Powerflows are good (I have a set of these on my 500HP small block tunnel hull havent touched em in 7 years- runs great.)
Imco Powerflow pluses are great
Stainless marines are in between the two

They are manifold systems though..- but very good ones.

Between these three Id take the "deal" I could get especially If Im not going over 600 ponies

Lightning makes great headers if you can swing the dough Id go with headers.

Oh sorry I didnt answer the question...... YES.

Both Teague and Boostpower use the Imcos.
(good enough for these guys.... Id wager its good enough for you)

I dont know a single performance builder using Gils on either Coast (doesnt mean they aren't- I just haven't seen anyone "lead" with Gil)

lol.... nah. Actually they are what I am wanting to buy. I have Gil dry's now, but think the lightnings will make a little more power and make getting to the plugs easier in mine.... oh and the cool factor too!!! haha

He wants something that is going to dump water farther back than his Gils. Rev marine's are not going to do that.

Pretty much the same. The Imco's also use wet joint between the riser and manifold.

I'm about 99% sure that your Gils will be just fine for your build. The only thing that is going to make more HP and dump water farther back, with a reasonable price, is CMI's.

Rockfish71 05-12-2009 06:25 AM

If you buy Revolution Marine you can get the long stainless steel risers plus now when you buy Revolution Marine exhaust you get EDDIE Marine manifolds and risers right from eddie marine. that's the best deal

DareDevil 05-12-2009 07:34 AM

I think the best deal are Stainless Marine .

The High Torque II or III !!! Then get dry and the water will dump in the last inch or they will built u a tailpipe how ever u want !!!:ernaehrung004:

JasonSmith 05-12-2009 08:28 AM

Dana has a dry joint between the manifold & the riser.
