Blowers getting hot - how hot is too hot?
I have Blower Shop 250's on top of 502's.... I just changed the pulley's from 4.10" down to 3.85" to bring my boost up from 3.5 lbs to 5lbs..... I noticed after some test runs on Saturday, the blowers are getting really hot to the touch. Much more hot on the front and top than on the back. They just came back from The Blower Shop from being freshened.... Is it normal for the blowers to get really hot? Any input here would be much appreciated, thanks.

Compressing air makes it hot. 5 lbs of boost can be over 150 degrees. That's why people use intercoolers. Maybe you need more ventilation in your engine compartment.

They all get hot when running. You probably just never checked them before.

Thanks guys, honestly, I dont think I have ever really checked and might eb just worrying too much.... overall, 5 lbs of boost, TBS 250's... not much really to be concerned with as far as heat, right?
I dont have room for intercoolers, and have all the ventilation I can really get in there..... |

My 177 on my 525sc would get very hot. You could barely touch it.
I would change the lube every 25-30hrs. |
