Labbed Prop

I just bought a 31 Scarab with 502 MPI Mags. The guy that sold it to me said that it originally came with 25" 3 blade Mirage Plus props. He was quite unhappy with the performance because he says they let loose too much. There are 24" Bravo I's on there now which I think are too small, everything I read tells me they should be 26". he say that he paid a "small fortune" for the props. How can I tell if they are labbed? If they aren't, wouldn't 26" labbed props be my best bet? Sorry, can't give any RPM's yet because it's still only 45 wonderful degrees here in NJ. I'm just looking to gather as much info as possible right now. I don't want to waste time or money if they are already labbed.

If you can shave with them they have been labbed.

If the props can from mercury labbed they use a part number with an "L" for lab. If they were labbed after the fact you can tell by the finish. The look is satin not shiney, also the leading edge of the blades are very sharp, third way feel the thickness of the blades against are regular prop they'll feel much thiner

Thanks for the info. I'll be at the marina over the weekend and I'll check them out.
