MSD ignition with the 6al-m box.The kill swithces are black spring loaded buttons with caps on them they have a green wire and a black wire.

It matters if your kill switches are normally open or closed. My Formula is a normally closed type switch. The hot wire to the ignition switch comes from the circuit breaker thru the kill switch to the ignition switch. The kill switch here is held in the normally closed position, so pull the cord & 12 volts disappears from the switch. I saw another post where someone with a normally open type switch ran a ground wire to the switch and then from the switch to the coil. Personally, , I prefer to remove the 12 volts rather than ground a hot lead.
Either method should work. (this is per the Formula wiring diagram faxed to me today by Formula). Your manufacturer may do the same. Good luck !

Blown Formula explained it well, the only thing I can add is that if it is a grounding type switch do not use it to ground the coil on that MSD. You could try using it to short the mag pickup wires.

Also make sure you have extra caps on board. If god forbid you ever go over the only way for they people still on board to get back to you is with a second set of caps
