octane

I beleve mercruiser spec's 89 octane. If it has a knock sensor it will adjust the timing back. you may want to look at some octane booster. But check the merc manual, it will list the min. octane number. 86 is pretty low, I would fill up on the trailer if possible.

86 octane??? I've never even heard of that before. Out here 87 is the lowest. BTW, stock merc black motors, are designed to run on 87.

In Missouri 87 is the lowest I've seen. In Colorado 85 is all over the place.
