Do all Eddie Marine Risers look like this?

To start with, these where on the boat when I purchased it.

I burned a hole in the bellows this week because it was at an angle and the tip where the exhausts exits was sitting on top of the bellow.

I noticed all the water exits at the top and is supposed to be diverted to the bottom of the riser.
Do they all look like this?? I do not want to pull another one off to find out.

In pic 2 I was condsidering drilling a weep hole where the white chalk is to let some water out of the bottom of the riser.

My marine power risers look just like that but I have a hole on the bottom for water to exit,

Thats just burned salt,,,they all look like this after a while.

And DON'T drill a hole in there,,,there is a reason why there is no hole .
u may get an air pocket in those if u do and burn them up.

I have those risers as well (new for now) and I had no intention of drilling a hole in the bottom, my thoughts are that it may cause an air pocket up top where the pressure needs to get the water out and I'd prefer to avoid pooling at the exit at idle.

I don't know how you could have an air pocket. There is nothing to trap it to create one.

I have looked at several other risers (not Eddie Marine) that have holes all round them.

One hole could not hurt. I am thinking it was cheaper to produce, its a low dollar riser.

Look,,if u know more then the manufacture,,,,build your own and stop asking people for advise.:angry-smiley-038:

If the water press on your engine would drop to a min ( for what ever reason ) u would have water coming out of your hole but not on the top !!!!! Does that make any sense to you ?!

End of story

i had those same risers and they were on the boat from 1993 to 2008 and never burnt anything up. no hole on the bottom or anything. but one hose had signs of wear. mabye it was just time for the hose to go.

I have EMI manifolds and stainless risers. I am not familiar with the alluminum, call Eddie and ask them. They will tell you what you need to know.
