Merc. 6.2/mx Hop Up?
 

I was Looking at a 2001 28 sonic with twin 6.2 /mx motors. What can you do besides blowers to pick up the Hp output? Are these motors any good? What's the deal? What happened to the 454's?

The answer to the second part of the question is the 454 and 502 were replaced by the 496 mag and the 496 mag HO. 375 and 425 HP.

Take a hard look at Whipples new kit. I have a buddy with a set of them in a 28 eliminator and its hard to beat the power with the weight savings. Also extremly reliable with minimal set up. A 6.2 with a whipple is cheaper than a 500 efi, makes more HP, weighs less and gives easier acces to the motor for maint.

I'm going to bring an old'ie up.......Whats the deal with this 28 ?I didnt think they made the 28's in the 2000's ? Lookin for some help my cousin is intrested in it....
