Puder;
My oil pick-up broke last year on the Merlin 632, the pick-up hit the crank was slung down into the aluminum pan and cracked the pan. Had the motor pulled, new Dooley pan and pickup installed. My engine builder, who is very good, said he checked all the bearings and they were fine. Needless to say I went to the lake over memorial day weekend and had eerily similar problems with oil pressure that you have described I thought my electric gaffrig was acting up, not so lucky, checked my system 1 filter and it was full of metal and brass. Ended up spinning the 3 center mains, and 2 rod bearings. I was down for 7 weeks waiting on custom JE pistons in the heart of boating season. :mad: :mad: I would re-bearing the bottom end, to avoid any potential problems down the road. For no more than a set costs its good insurance. I would also suggest putting in a mechanical oil pressure guage so you know for sure where you pressure is. My feeling is you have a bearing problem that is slowly starting to show up. Been there, done that....change them out.
