Any input on these INTAKES???

Has anyone ever run these intakes or simular. I noticed ebay is loaded with several different intakes and just wondered if anyone has used any of them. Compared to a Dart or Victor Jr.?????

I am not starting a thread on which is the best intake on the market but rather if anybody has used these or simular to.

Thanks,
John

I put together a low $$ race car for my son a few years ago, we used a professional products intake that was knock off of a victor JR worked very well car was faster than I figured it would be with the parts we used, decent intake for the price, now we did clean up the ports and matched to a felpro gasket...Rob

I have a Pro Products intake on my '64 Falcon 'vert, good quality, no issues with it. I installed one on my CVX-18 years ago and had no problems with it either. Lower porosity = stronger casting due to being cast in steel molds rather than sand. Better cooling with the rear crossover port. From what I remember, one of the owners is a former Edelbrock design engineer.

Ran one on a Gen 5 BB (dyno time only) and it was quite worthy. We also ran the victor on the same engine. The PP made more HP in the 4500 to 6000 range (surprised).

one other thing, I did talk to them before we ran it and they told me to run a 1" open spacer which we did....still have the intake today...Rob

Thanks guys,
i was a little concerned with the port size which is larger on the intake according to their measurements given than that of my chevy 049's oval ports. without looking at the moment it seems like the port size on the intake is 2.0 X 1.85 and the heads are 2.0 X 1.61. not a huge difference however i had hoped for it to be the other way around as Jim Valako is doing the heads and didn't plan to open the size any larger on the head ports. any thoughts...

once again,
thanks,
john

it will increase your velocity into the head. What displacement engine. Anythig 502+- and lower, this is the best bang for the buck. Just order new ones though from JEGS. Sometimes I get used intakes with some warpage etc and they won't seal right. I don't buy them any more. Not worth the hassle.

1" open spacer helps also but only on the far end of the range.

Good luck
