HP 500 to 540
 

I have a HP500 motor that I had a main bearing spin on. I had the motor reworked into a 540 and had the machine shop install a new crank, rods and pistions. This motor will have a Vortech supercharger on it running 5 lbs of boost. Will the stock HP500 cam still work or do I need to look into a different cam? I'm planning on using the stock cast heads on it as they are in great condition, and I was told they are very good heads.

At this point, with the motor torn down, why not spend a few hundred more and get the right cam for the package. RMBUILDER could most likely help you out with this one. It should put some extra ponies under the hatch.
