Engine Run Stand Electrical

Just finishedmy 2000 carborated 500 HP and am going to run it on an engine run stand. I need to know what powers and grounds I need to hook up and where at the Mercruiser Plug. PS - To set the timing do I need to disconnect or ground anything in the harness. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
