Shift Switch

IF the shift switch is bad, out of adjustment,,or just disconnected,,,will any of these make the engine run likes it on four cylinders,,or like its not getting a full spark,,and smell like raw fuel ,,,07 496 manual shift

I can not think of how. Ussually it would just make it so that it had to be wiggled to start.
