engine coupler

If I have the engine coupler with the snout, do I have to replace it with one with the snout? It seems all the ones I can find do not have the snout.
Bravo application.

noone knows?

I din't know they made one without the snout for a bravo application.

Are you sure you aren't accidentaly finding one for a transmission application?

You can use either coupler. They are interchangeable. The long snout steel one is listed as OEM for the 575SCI and you can look it up that way on www.mercruiserparts.com.

Griff, I just put an 2001 hp500efi in my 2005 Superboat, I used a coupler with the longer snout and had a vibration but ran it anyway this weekend, Just pulled drive and vibration still there, sound like the snout is lightly touching the transome plate where the snout goes in, alingment tool still goes in freely (one hand slight push) is this possible?

Thanks in advance for any help I can get,
Eddie

I don't think so. I switched from the standard to long snout on my 525sc and never had an issue. Maybe the coupler is bad and out of balance??????

Cut if off with sawzall (sp). Vibration gone, once if found out the snout was aluminum it was easy to cut

I didn't even know they made long snout aluminum ones. Mine was steel.
