power steering pump

any body know if a new style mercrusier power steering pump will replace an older style pump(1986). i just added imco steering and i am haveing trouble getting there aluminum
cap to seal on the older style housing (leaks very bad)
i think my pump is a part #90507a5

Would it be possible to just replace the reservoir on the pump? Not your remote reservoir, the one mounted on the pump itself.

it does not look like my housing comes apart like new style
it appears to be all one unit

yes you can change it over but the pressure line should be different, o-ring vs flair..they make adapters..Rob
