Trim acutator stops...........
I heard there is a part that can be installed in the mercruiser trim rams so that the full trailering position can be limited. I'd like to do this so that my external steering rams don't hit the new muffler tips i'm installing when i tilt the drive up. Can anyone steer me to the right parts that i'm talking about?

Where do they get installed?

they go inside the cylinder.
they go over the ram. they get sandwiched between the piston and cap at full stroke, limiting outward movement. |
What's involved with getting this done. I'd like to do it myself. Is it going to require dissasembly of the ram, loosing the hydraulic oil? Or is it something that i just take off some plastic covers and snap them in?

Never put them in, but I found opening up the cylinders and rebuilding them pretty easy. Only thing that was hard was finding the right spanner wrench cheap. Also if your lines are corroded, it could get ugly if you need to remove the lines.
I think the oil is just 10W-30. Jim |
