Default outdrive knocking at idle in gear?

Just put boat in water tonight and the outdrive is knocking in gear. I am thinking u-joint. Any one with experience here? It doesn't seem to get any louder when I throttle up and get on plane I can't here it. Exhaust is loud though. Will it last the day tommorrow if I take it easy?

Could be U joint, typically they change noise or amount they make when you turn/trim etc. If it is constant thru steerage and trimming up etc. I would say something else going on. But I dunno if I would take boat out with it knocking, at the least least gonna tear more stuff up.

Well I figured out the knocking in the outdrive.
two teeth chewed off the forward gear. Guess the new motor wass definately too much for a Bravo. Gonna get a new custom built Xr from Eddie Young. Hope that one holds up.
