250XS Boost fuel pumps
 

I have a 28 Skater W/2005 Merc 250XSs. Boat takes off from a stand still great ,revs to 6000rp, planes off and with in 30 to 45 seconds motors start holding back till they will not go over 3000/3500 Rpm. If I let them idle down the same thing happpens again. It feels like the're starving for gas.. Everything is new from the new tanks back to the new vacuum fuel pumps on the motors.. Two Merc mechanics said it sounded like the boost fuel pumps on the motors are the problem and if it were the high pressure pumps I would not hit the original 6000rpm. Any comments or suggestions??
