OIL Pressure Going UP ^^^^^ ??????

I was running my boat for the first time this year this past weekend. Down the river oil Pressure on port engine ran around 60PSI Normal for my Boat. Back up the river the Oil Pressure got up to 80 PSI. What makes oil pressure go up.??? I would be more concerned with LOW oil pressure. Is high pressure a concern. Have not run the boat again to see if it still runs high.

Thanks for any input,

Thanks for any input,

oil pressure sender failure is most likely, assuming clean oil and filters. could be as short in the sender wire also

Were you running the same RPM? Was the oil temp the same? Colder oil will make more PSI. As will more RPM.
