Perko switch Help!!!!

Here is my deal this is for my boat not my rhino,

I have a single engine with 2 bateries, I have the common in the middle bat 1 and bat 2 all good. I have the main power wire to the dash key switch etc. When I hook it up to the common nothing comes on when i go to battery 1, when I switch it to both its fine, and when i go to battery 2 everything stays on. is it possible i have a bad perko switch?or is something hooked up wrong.

My boat is a 22 nordic sprint with an hp525 the project just got done being installed this is the only problem im having

Either Batt number 1 is Dead Or a bad switch, Check the batt for 12volts, Or the batt cable is bad between the batt and the switch.

ill put a volt meter on it in the morning the cables seem like they look good, the guys at lightning boats installed the pkg, and i saw that the common and battery 2 on the perko were switched (just one of many things wrong but getting through it)

could that have caused the perko to go bad, i put the battery charger on battery 2 last night and the freaking batters was burning hot by the morning the are blue tops so i hope i can take them back

Blue top optimas Need the lowest and slowest charging you can get off your charger, I believe optima makes there owen style charger just for there batteries. And it does not take long to charge them up either, No over night stuff. And NO hooking them up the way they did should not hurt the batterie switch at all. Also ohms check the batt, cable from end to end at all ends and crimps to see if the cable is good.

the wire is odd it seems like there is one from the 525 computer, one for the radio, and one for the gauges it looks like they put them all in one im just hopeing the battery is real dead or the perko switch is bad..

Just an FYI and may not be issue for you, but something to check out for you. I just finished re-assembling my motor and associated wiring, etc, and when I went to screw the Perko switch back onto its mount, I noticed that one of my battery cables had pulled loose from its lead connector which is bolted to the backside of the switch. Had I not removed the switch, I would not have noticed this. Just something to check if you still are scratching your head.

Ground

Make sure you have a Neg groung cabel from EACH BATTERY going to the ground point on the block.. DO NOT run one cable from the block to one battery and then a short one from one battery to the other.. They will not charge off the alternator properly and ruin one if not both batteries. This is a common mistake when adding a perco switch and another battery.
