Mechanical trim assembly

On a 1999 Baja I have Mercury racing mechanical trim and tab indicators. I have two questions:

the drive indicators - port works fine. When drives are up in trailer position I can see the starboard ram assembly does not come out as far as port. Are they spring loaded? Can you adjust or replace it?

Also, I haven't looked at this closely, but my starboard K-plane doesn't work. The motor clicks, but nothing happens. I'm thinking it could be the pump. Are the pumps the same for the drive trim? I can get a hold of a working used one cheap, but don't want to do it if it won't work.

Thanks.

You've got a sticking indicator cable.

My 29 had the same problem.

If it's just clicking, might be the solenoid.

The drive and trim pumps are not the same.

Thanks. Any way to unstick it? Do I pull on it while it's on the trailer? Does the ram come apart easily (or at all)?

You're probably going to have to replace the cable.

I jacked around with mine, took it all apart,
clamped a piece of rubber hose around it,
filled it with penetrating oil, and pressurized it
to try to get lube up into the cable and it still didn't
help.

Mine quit working a little bit past 6 on the indicator,
I never ran past 6 anyway, so, I didn't screw with
it any more.

What's different about them? I've been told they are exactly the same.

The reserviors on the k-planes are much
smaller than the drives( at least on mine)

Motors and solenoids appear similar, but don't
know if they're exactly the same though.

The idicator rams on the drive are spring loaded. It could just have some sand and trash in it. It needs to be taken apart to check the cable anyway.
