Default 200psi of oil pressure

Just finished installing my blown 509 and I installed a oil filled oil pressure gauge on the block[more accurate then the elecric dash gauge. anyways I started the motor and it fired rite up then bloooooow spilt the oil filter seal ,I looked at the gauge and 200psi of oil pressure.. does anyone got any idea why this is happening. my oiling system is all new high volume pump ,3/4 high pressure hose's..

The pressure relief valve in the oil pump is stuck... It's the only thing that can cause pressure that high.

Yup stuck relief valve.been there done that. This past winter in installed high flow high volum pumps with screw in pick ups.So instead of spot welding the pick up I just red loctited,Thinking they were screw in why weld and heat up the pump. Well just my luck one drop dripped into the housing while it was drying and went right into the relief valve passage.Blew the filter right off the housing twice before I realized that I definitly had an issue. So sorry to say but the pan must come off and you have to remove the pump to fix.
