Header Question
 

I Have Emi Thunder Headers On My 1997 Scarab With A 502mpi And I Recently Purchases A 2007 Domn8er With A 496 Mag. Can I Swap Headers? If So Is All I Heed Is Some Gaskets Or Is It More Involved Then That. Is It Even Worth Swaping Them ?

EMI Tunders are manifolds, not headers, pretty much like the stock Merc 496 manifolds. Don't think you will see any real change with the swap. If you really wnat to see any significant increase on a Merc 496 you will have to install a real set of header manifolds or headers.

I know a guy that spent 5k for cmi's and put them on his donzi.
he said he didnt pick up annmore speed but said it felt stronger in the midrange, Emi lists a differant manifold for your 496.. the risers willwork but you may need to change the manifolds..

Emi makes a good product and i have used them for years

emi will wake up you're 496 but if you want better performance get some headers lightning headers or cmi it just depend how much you're willing to spend.
