outdrive oil, whats the difference???

:drink: ok,whats the real difference between quicksilver outdrive oil 80w-90 versus regular performance gear oil with same viscosity? i was at bass pro today and they wanted frikin 13.99 a quart of the quick silver brand, and right next to it was penzoil lower unit oil same viscosity for only 4.99 each, what gives??

Do a search here and in the out drive forum, lots of info. Short story, most have switched to amsooil or mobil 1.

A lot depends on your hp and what you are asking your drives to do. I switched to Royal Purple when I substantially increased power.

If you run an 80w-90 GL-5/hypoid product it will more than work. If you must buy on price, then the spec is the spec, buy on price. Of course, there are better products on the market.

We offer high quality Swepco Gear Oil, used not only in high performance boating applications but the harsh environments of Nascar and Baja Trophy Trucks also.
